The Dabbers will look to build on Tuesday’s win on Saturday (3pm kick-off) with a trip to 1874 Northwich.

After 2 wins out of 3 in all competitions to start their return to Step 4, 1874 Northwich have now gone 8 without a win. Although it should be said that 5 of their last 6 games have been away from home, including their last 3 which have been defeats at Padiham and Hanley and a draw at Atherton.
At home, they have only lost 1 from 5, drawing with Vauxhall in their most recent home game at the end of August. They are currently 20th in the NPL West with 5 points from 7 games.
Their plans for this season were upended when promotion winning manager Chris Herbert left to join Vauxhall Motors, and signed a couple of 1874’s players as well. Former Wythenshawe Town manager Rory Fallon was appointed as his replacement.
Last Time We Met
The Dabbers have only played 1874 three times since they formed in 2012, winning all three. The most recent came on New Year’s Day 2024 in the league, where Paul Carden’s Nantwich won 2-0 at the Swansway thanks to a brace from Callum Saunders.
Players to Watch
Ben Crane is down as their top scorer so far this season. More goals could be set to follow up top from recent attacking signing James Simms, part of Avro’s promotion winning squad last season.

Despite both town being in Cheshire and less than 20 miles apart, the public transport options between Nantwich and Northwich are poor, so driving is easily the best way to get to Townfield, via the A530 and A533.
There is a car park adjacent to the ground at the Barnton Memorial Hall however please note that the Hall Committee levy a £2 car parking charge (which benefits local charities). Free parking is available at the library (200m from the ground, on the opposite side) and there is a larger car park at the Primary School (400m from the ground), both of these are on Townfield Lane.
