Ahead of the 2026-27 season, Nantwich Town can confirm Harry Davis will become the new Club Captain.

Davis is a natural leader in a career that has seen him captain numerous clubs, most notably success with Crewe Alexandra and recently AFC Fylde. With the strong connection at the club with the Davis family following the success of his father Steve as player-manager and the local link it becomes the exciting next chapter as we kick start the 2026-27 campaign.

The management team have appointed a new “Leadership Group” to work under the new Club Captain with Joe Piggott, Perry Bircumshaw and Troy Bourne taking on the shared responsibility as vice captains.

Manager Luke Goddard said on behalf of the management team:

“Myself, Marc and Jack didn’t take long to decide on the leadership group. All four lads bring that connection to Nantwich Town, and importantly we feel players who can help drive the standards and culture we want.

In any successful squad you need leaders who share the vision and alignment of the staff. Harry brings the experience, knowledge and leadership qualities in someone we can trust. Pigs has been faultless since he rejoined last year, a local lad who wants success and demands standards. Troy needs no introduction as a former Dabbers captain and Pez is our longest serving player with a proven loyalty to Nantwich Town as well as the experience.

Together they will help form the foundations we demand to begin a new era as always in a positive & progressive environment.”
