Craig Acton, Founder and Head Coach of Nantwich Town Disability Football (NTDF), is once again rallying the local community – this time with a heartfelt mission to raise £2,000 for team kits for all 45 adult players heading into the new football season.
Under Craig’s passionate leadership, NTDF has flourished into a beacon of inclusion and opportunity, offering free pan-disability football training every Friday evening at the Swansway Stadium on Water Lode in Nantwich. The club supports dozens of visually impaired and pan-disability players, all united by their love of the beautiful game.
Craig’s vision is clear: to make football accessible to all, regardless of disability. Whether players are living with autism, motor neurone disease, anxiety, or visual impairments, NTDF provides a safe, welcoming environment where everyone is treated as part of the team.
The fundraiser aims to ensure that every adult player in NTDF’s pan-disability and visually impaired teams – the Knights, Barons, Panthers, Tanners and Wolves – can take to the pitch in a professional, unified kit. These teams proudly compete in the West Cheshire Ability Counts League, where representation and team spirit mean just as much as results.
“We’re hoping to go into the new season with full kits for all 45 of our adult players,” says Craig. “Any help towards making this happen would be greatly appreciated by everyone at NTDF.”
Craig is no stranger to fundraising. In the past, he’s led sponsored long-distance walks and even 24-hour football-a-thons to keep the club running and growing. His tireless efforts and hands-on approach make him not only a coach and captain – but also a community champion.
NTDF’s sessions are held every Friday from 7-8pm on the state-of-the-art 3G pitch at Nantwich Town FC, and are completely free for all participants.
