Fate has pulled the Dabbers and Chester together again, this time at the Swansway Stadium this Saturday in the Second Round of the FA Trophy (3pm kick-off).
Chester Draws
If you include the women’s game, this is the 4th meeting between the Dabbers and Chester this season and it’s only November. We have remarkably drawn each other in the Men’s and Women’s FA Cups and now the FA Trophy.
Chester’s form since our meeting at the Deva Stadium in September has been outstanding. They won the 5 games following that tie, only conceding twice and earning Calum McIntyre a deserved Manager of the Month award in National League North.
It has stuttered slightly in the last couple. A defeat in the league to Darlington came between a tie and replay with York City of the National League. A goalless draw at the Deva was followed by a 2-1 defeat away on Tuesday night in the replay.
Despite the fine run of form, they still sit 16th in NL North, albeit they do have at least 2 games in hand on every team above them, and are only 5 points off the play offs in a very tight-looking division.
Last Time Out
It’ll still be fresh in the minds of everyone involved that day in September, but in case you needed a refresher, Harrison Burke put the Seals ahead before Connor Heath equalised with a bullet header. Charlie Caton then won it with the last kick of the game at a point where the Dabbers looked more likely to win it. Highlights below.
Players to Watch
Caton was the danger man that day and he will be again on Saturday. He’s been well among the goals before and since our last meeting.
George Glendon is another, who’s now up to 4 in his last 5 after scoring in the defeat at York in midweek.
Elliot Whitehouse is the third on the list who has been on the scoresheet in recent games. There is the chance that one or two of these could start on the bench, as Caton did in our FA Cup tie.

No tickets will be available on the gate so you MUST buy online HERE or at our club shop by Friday at 10pm at the latest. Seated tickets are sold out but general admission are still available.
The Swansway Stadium will look slightly different than usual but extra stewards will be on hand to direct you or answer any questions.
