The Dabbers’ tough run of league games continues on Saturday (3pm kick-off) with the visit of 2nd place Prescot Cables to the Swansway Stadium.

As their badges proudly declare, both the Dabbers and Prescot Cables were formed in 1884, the year the Washington Monument was finished and John Kellogg patented corn flakes. The sides first met in 1933 and have played 53 times, Nantwich winning 21, Prescot 26 and 6 draws (thanks to Retro Dabbers).
They haven’t met since an FA Trophy tie in October 2010 which the Dabbers won 6-2 at the Weaver Stadium. In league football they haven’t played since 2008/9, with both sides winning their respective home fixture that season.
Players to Watch
John Murphy is Prescot’s top scorer and averaging a goal every 2 games this season, with 8 in 16 games in all competitions. If you look at their last 2 games, Jack Goodwin and James Foley have both scored in both those matches so there are threats wherever you look.
Former Dabber Matty Devine signed for Prescot from the Dabbers last year but is suspended for this one. Joel Connolly went the other way last season so will be catching up with plenty of former team mates.
