We begin our 100th FA Cup campaign this evening with a trip to The Community Ground to face Skelmersdale United.
After an opening day loss to Avro, we bounced back on Tuesday night with a dominant 3-0 victory over Vauxhall Motors
THE OPPOSITION
Tonight’s opposition currently play in the North West Counties Premier Division and they are yet to pick up a point all season after failing to win any of their first four games. However, they have picked up one win this season and that was in the FA Cup where they beat Northwich Victoria 3-1 in the Extra Preliminary Round.
One to watch – SAMUEL ILENSEMI
Despite only playing twice in the five games so far this season. The Skelmersdale centre forward has found the net twice. He scored in his sides 3-1 defeat to Litherland REMYCA on Tuesday night and also found the net in their FA Cup win against Northwich Vics.
Another player to keep an eye out for us Kristin Knowles, he has also found the net twice this season. He scored in their FA Cup win and also against AFC Liverpool on the 1st August.
FIXTURE THROWBACK
The last time the sides met was in 2017 when The Dabbers ran out 3-2 winners thanks for goals from Ryan Brooke, Steve Jones and a Sean Cooke penalty. We also met Skelmersdale in the 1st Qualifying Round of the FA Cup back in 1966.
