The Dabbers are getting ready to face their second pre-season promotion favourite in three days, as we prepare to head to Cantilever Park to face Warrington Town on Bank Holiday Monday (3pm kick-off).
Warr of the Worlds
The Yellows had started the season well, with back to back wins over Morpeth and Stalybridge. Then, they had consecutive 1-1 draws with Belper and Atherton, who are both towards the wrong end of the table. Saturday brought the latest blow, as Warrington fell to their first defeat, 2-1 away at Ashton United. After all that, they sit outside the play-offs, in 8th place on 8 points.
Last Time Out
We were last at Cantilever Park in February, where we went down to a 2-1 defeat. Matty Devine headed into his own goal just 4 minutes in, before Jordan Buckley doubled the lead on the hour mark. Connor Heath got what proved to be a consolation late on for the Dabbers, but he has scored on his last two visits to Warrington Town. Highlights from that game are available below.
Players to Watch
The Yellows have retained the prolific Buckley and he already has 2 goals to his name this term. They have also strengthened up top with Isaac Buckley-Ricketts coming in on loan from Southport, he has been on the scoresheet too in the early games. Also among their ranks now is former Dabber Andy White, who joined in the summer following the end of his time at Altrincham.
