Nantwich Town Football Club are thrilled to announce the appointment of Will Swindells as the new Football Development Officer, stepping into the role previously held by Lyndon Wain.
Will brings a dynamic mix of fresh ideas, football knowledge, and a deep passion for community engagement to the Dabbers. He’s already diving into revamping the club’s community activities, ensuring there’s something for everyone this summer – even while the first teams take a well-earned break!
This summer promises a packed and exciting schedule at Nantwich Town FC, featuring popular and newly enhanced sessions such as:

Will is no stranger to the Dabbers — having already been involved in coaching across the club, particularly with girls’ football. He’s passionate about making football accessible to all and developing pathways for every player, no matter their age or ability.
A recent MSc graduate in Football Business from UCFB — where he earned a Merit and the prestigious Dean’s Award — Will combines academic excellence with hands-on leadership experience. His background also includes a BA in Sport Management from Coventry University, where he served as Athletics Club Captain and a long-standing Education Representative.
Will’s dedication to promoting the women’s game stands out. In addition to his club work, he founded OnSide: A Women’s Game Review, a blog aimed at shining a light on stories in women’s football that often go untold.
Speaking about his new role, Will said:
“I would like to take this time to thank everyone involved at Nantwich for having me as the Football Development Officer. We have so many fantastic community volunteers who make our football club such a fantastic place to work.
“Lyndon Wain, the former Football Development Officer, installed the value of ‘football is for everyone’ at Nantwich Town FC and my aim to carry that philosophy on, reaching parts of our community we haven’t positively impacted before.”
