After their FA Cup First around Qualifying Round victory over Tividale in Midweek, The Dabbers return to league action as they host Stalybridge Celtic in their first home game of the league campaign.
SEASONS SO FAR:
Nantwich have made a solid start to their season. They kicked off their campaign with a 1-1 draw away at promotion favourites FC United Of Manchester, in which Sean Cooke got his 98th Dabbers goal. In midweek they followed up that result with a comfortable 4-2 victory in the FA Cup against Tividale. The Dabbers were 4-0 up with 20 minutes to go thanks to a brace each from Callum Saunders and Joe Malkin, however two quick Tividale goals made it a nervous last ten minutes for Nantwich, however they thankfully hung on to progress into the next round.
Stalybridge have had an identical start to the Dabbers as they have also drawn and won their first two games. They hosted Lancaster City on the opening day of the season which saw both sides settle for a point as they shared a goal each. Charley Doyle god the solitary goal for Celtic. Stalybridge then comfortably progressed into the next round of the FA Cup as they beat Bishop Auckland at home as goals from Mike Burke, Harry Freedman & Lewis Salmon saw them run out 3-0 winners.
LAST TIME OUT:
When the sides met at Bower Field last season in January, The Dabbers ran out 2-0 winners. Goals from Joe Mwaslie & James Lawrie gave them the victory in what was a great afternoon for the greens. The reserve fixture unfortunately never happened due to COVID-19
With both sides enjoying unbeaten starts to the their campaigns it should be an excellent game on Saturday. Make sure you get your tickets from the Dabbers website or from the club shop!
