Sean began his career at Crewe Alex, but after having trials at Blackburn and Wigan he moved to the Dabbers for the 2011/12 season. He left for AFC Fylde in 2013, where he won the NPL Premier Division Player of the Year award and subsequently joined AFC Telford.
Cooke returned back to Nantwich on loan in late February 2015, where he played a vital part in helping the Dabbers keep their NPL Premier Division status. He joined FC United at the start of the 2015/16 season, but after being released, he returned to the Dabbers under former boss Phil Parkinson.
The 2016/17 season saw Cooke finish as the club’s top goalscorer as he finished the season with 21 in total. He also notched his 50th club goal away at Rushall Olympic. Despite suffering a knee injury during the final months of the season he was voted in the league’s team of the season.
2017/18 saw Cooke again finished as the club’s top goal scorer with 18 goals, and also made his 200th appearance for the club against Warrington Town.
The following campaign saw Cooke find the net thirteen times and set up twelve more, as he surpassed two-hundred-and-forty games for the club, and helped guide them to the play-off semi-finals.
