Nantwich Town U14s enjoyed cup final success on Potteries Junior Youth League Cup Final’s day, as the young Dabbers enjoyed a 6-1 win against Florence U14s at Stone Dominoes.
The club also had representations at U12 and U15 level but both sides were beaten in their finals against Stone Dominoes and Redgate Clayton respectively.
The 14s took a 3-1 lead into half time having dominated most of proceedings and they continued finding the net in the second period scoring three more goals including two penalties.
However the U12s were unable to follow the 14s despite a spirited display against higher league opposition.
Despite going two goals down, the Dabbers pulled one back but were unable to find an equaliser as Stone Dominoes scored two more.
Finally the U15s came up against a strong Redgate Clayton side and it was the Dabbers who took the lead within 60 seconds of the game.
But Clayton scored twice to come back and take the lead into half-time. The scoreline remained at 2-1 for much of the game and the Dabbers pushed for an equaliser in the second period but were unable to do so and Clayton nabbed a third late on.
All three sides gave a great account of themselves and the club are very proud of their efforts.« Back to all news
