Stafford Rangers 1-2 Nantwich Town

The Dabbers cruised into the 4th Round of the Doodson Sport League Cup with a well-earned win at Marston Road.

Jimmy Quinn’s side continued their impressive away form, with a stylish performance on a very heavy pitch.  Kyle Wilson (pictured) put Nantwich ahead when he fired home from a narrow angle on the half-hour and the Dabbers sealed victory five minues from time when Sean Cooke netted his 15th goal of the season from the penalty spot.

Rangers’ substitute Karl Ashton pulled one back for the hosts in stoppage time but it proved no more than a consolation as the Dabbers beat their local rivals to secure their passage into the next round.

Nantwich will look to continue their strong away form on Saturday when they visit AFC Fylde, before returning to the Weaver Stadium to take on Chorley the following Saturday (19th January).

Nantwich: Brain, Dicker, Short (Hudson), Hughes, Moss, McDonald, Cooke, Brown (Lane), Beesley (Everall), Wilson, Maguire.  Attendance: 210
