By Ryan Batty:
Nantwich Town Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of former Crewe Alexandra striker Callum Saunders ahead of the 2018/19 season.
The twenty-two-year-old striker arrives after his release from League Two outfit Notts County at the end of last season. Saunders began his career at Gresty Road with the Alex before departing in 2017.
The striker has appeared for Wales at U19 and U21 level and is available for selection for Saturday’s season-opener with Gainsborough Trinity.
On the signing, manager Dave Cooke said: “I’m very happy with the signing. He’s a player who I’ve admired for a long time. I’ve seen him play from a young age, from when he’s been at Crewe, and he’s been scoring plenty of goals since he was a kid.
“I think he’s had the hard end of the stick in recent years and I think he’s got what it takes to play at a higher level. Hopefully, the club will be the platform to prove his skills.
“I personally can’t wait for him to get started.”
Welcome to the club, Callum!« Back to all news
