Sam signed for the Dabbers at the start of the 2015/16 season from Leek Town, where he had been captain. Originally part of Burton Albion’s youth team before being released in 2008, he joined Hednesford Town ahead of the 2008/09 season. After one season with them, he signed for Kidsgrove Athletic, spending three productive years with them. In 2012, he signed for Leek Town and he made over 100 appearances for the Staffordshire based club.

Sam signed for the Dabbers in the summer of 2015 and was an integral part of the first team last season, scoring twice and making over 40 appearances for the club. He also took over the captains armband from Darren Thornton midway through the season. He was voted as the Nantwich Town Independent Supporters Association (NTISA)’s Player of the Year for 2015/16.

He was an ever present throughout the 16/17 season, captaining the team and scoring two goals in 48 appearances, including a fantastic effort against Halesowen Town in the FA Cup.
