Danny has had a long association with the Dabbers, stretching all the way back to when he first joined the club in 1998. After being released from Crewe Alexandra’s youth set-up, he played for the Dabbers youth side before making his first team league debut as a second half substitute at Workington in November 1998.
He moved to Mossley in the 2001/02 season before having spells at Northwich Victoria, Middlewich Athletic and Newcastle Town before returning to the Dabbers in the 2003/2004 season. He went on to become club captain the following season.
Following spells at Congleton, Witton Albion and Kidsgrove, he joined Alsager Town before becoming manager in 2014 as successor to Phil Parkinson, who left the management role with the Bullets due to work comittments.
But when Parkinson returned to Nantwich as the manger, Griggs immediately followed him as a coach, linking up with the Dabbers yet again. Due to a shortage of players, Griggs signed playing forms for the Dabbers. He made a single appearance from the bench during the 2016/17 season away at Mossley AFC in the League Cup.
Upon the departure of Parkinson to Altrincham in May 2017, Griggs was promoted to assistant manager to work under new manager Dave Cooke.
