Nantwich Town return to action this weekend after last Saturday’s scheduled game with Bamber Bridge was postponed due to a frozen pitch, as they make the trip to Throstle Nest to take on fellow promotion-hunters Farsley Celtic. The Dabbers’ last outing saw Joe Malkin’s winner earn all three points against Matlock Town, while Farsley’s game with North Ferriby was also called off last weekend, their last outing being a 3-1 away victory against Scarborough Athletic a fortnight ago.

In the Dabbers’ last three outings against the Celts, it’s a 1-1-1 record for the men in green. Last season’s trip to Throstle Nest saw James Walshaw net twice past Reece Quinn for a 2-0 win against Farsley. The return game at the Weaver Stadium saw Nantwich score early on thanks to Harry Clayton’s penalty, but Ben Atkinson’s late equaliser forced a point for each side. However, Nantwich finally got their win over Farsley earlier this year as James Lawrie and Joel Stair scored first-half goals that were enough for Nantwich to pick up a 2-1 victory at the Weaver Stadium.
One To Watch – James Spencer (Forward):
Jimmy, who was born in Leeds, started his career with Huddersfield Town, and was with the Terriers for five years when he also enjoyed spells on loan with then National League Club Northwich Victoria, Morecambe, Cheltenham, Brentford, Crawley Town and Scunthorpe United. Following a brief spell with Notts County he signed a two-year deal with the club at the start of the 2014/15 season. He then had a year with Plymouth Argyle in 2016/17 and moved on to play for Mansfield Town last season. Jimmy signed for Celts prior to the start of the 2018/19 campaign.

Games to keep an eye on:
It should be an entertaining clash at Ewen Fields as Hyde United host Matlock Town this weekend, as both sides look to push for the highest possible finish. Gainsborough Trinity will look to keep pace with the leaders as they make the trip to the Silverlands to take on Buxton, while Bamber Bridge look to be the first team to beat South Shields at Mariners Park this season. League leaders Warrington Town also host Hednesford Town.« Back to all news
