Nantwich Town look to return to winning ways this weekend as they take on Buxton away from home. The Dabbers couldn’t find a win in the week as they fell to Matlock Town 2-0 at the Weaver Stadium. However, Nantwich have every chance of walking away tomorrow with all three points, though Buxton are certainly no pushovers, and cannot be beaten unless taken with full concentration and respect. Tomorrow’s hosts haven’t played for almost a month, but they weren’t successful last time out, with a 2-1 away defeat against Stourbridge.

Last Time Out
Two first half goals saw Nantwich Town suffer their sixth home defeat of the season as they were beaten 2-0 by Matlock Town at the Weaver Stadium. Goals from Michael Williams and Ricardo German in the first period were enough for Matlock with Gladiators’ keeper Richard Walton making two late saves from Steve Jones & Toby Mullarkey to deny the Dabbers any consolation.
Buxton currently sit in 18th and sit without a win since the turn of the year. However, if bogey teams were to exist, Buxton certainly fit that mould for Nantwich, as the Dabbers are without an away win against Buxton seven from eight attempts. The exception was a 1-0 victory on the opening day of the 2014/15 season where Mark Jones scored the winner for Danny Johnson’s side.
Key Man – Liam Hardy (Forward)
Liam Hardy is the joint-top scorer in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division, with twenty-five goals already this season. Twenty of those efforts have been from open play, while five have come from the penalty spot. Hardy is one of the most prolific strikers at the level, and sits 8th in the Bucks’ all-time scoring charts with sixty-eight goals over two spells with the club.

Our Last Meeting
The Dabbers suffered their first home defeat of the season as two goals from striker Liam Hardy saw Buxton win 3-1 at the Weaver Stadium. Sean Cooke’s deflected free kick gave the home side the lead just three minutes in but Joel Stair’s own goal and a goal either side of half time from Hardy, saw the Bucks claim all three points.
