By Steve Sharman:
Full-back Courtney Wildin believes the fact it’s the FA Cup gives the Dabbers a chance of a cup upset on Saturday as they take on League Two side Stevenage.
Wildin moved to the club in September from Nuneaton Town and has featured heavily at left-back since his arrival, and the defender reckons the Dabbers could cause an upset this weekend.
He said: “With it being an FA Cup game I think anything can happen. Stevenage will come out on Saturday with all the pressure on them to win the game.
“This can play in our favour, and as long as we all give 100 percent, we have a chance.
“Personally it’ll be a great feeling. It gives me a chance to showcase myself to a Football League team and a chance you don’t get often so I’m really looking forward to it.”
Having arrived after the Third Qualifying Round tie win over Nuneaton Town, Courtney has only featured in the two games against Kettering in the competition.
And having beaten the Southern Premier Division side in a replay, he said the feeling in the dressing room after the win was fantastic.
“We were very confident coming into the replay. We had a game plan and we stuck to it, every player gave 100 percent.
“It was a great feeling coming into the dressing room knowing we were through to the First Round” he added.
Since arriving in September the 21-year old has gone on to feature five times in a Nantwich shirt, and Wildin has loved every minute he has played for the club.
“I’ve enjoyed every minute, the lads are brilliant, the coaches and manager have put no pressure on me and just let me play with freedom and express myself out on the pitch.
“I enjoy my football most when I can do that. Also the fans and the club as a whole have just been really positive towards me so I thank everyone involved for that.”« Back to all news
