New striker Jordan Cole is delighted to have helped Nantwich Town return to winning ways on Tuesday evening, and is raring to go for the rest of the campaign as the team look to move up the league table.
Cole, who signed this week on an initial two-month loan from Newcastle Town (with a view to a permanent deal), came off the bench against Stourbridge on Tuesday and gave the Dabbers’ support something to savour, netting a great strike that pushed Dave Cooke’s side to an impressive 2-0 victory.
Cole thanked the Nantwich faithful for their support on Tuesday, as well as everyone at the club for a warm welcome.
“I would like to thank all the staff, players and fans who gave me such a warm welcome on Tuesday, it gave me a massive boost in confidence when coming onto the pitch.
“Normally it can take a few weeks for new players like myself to blood in, but the way we played on Tuesday was like we’d been teammates all season.”
Jordan’s debut strike certainly boosted confidence against a strong Stourbridge side, and his goal increases his excitement about the rest of the campaign.
“My goal was just a bonus, it was all about closing out the victory. I’m very excited about the rest of the season, and if we continue to play like we did on Tuesday, who knows how far we can go?”
Nantwich are back in League action next Saturday as they host Stalybridge Celtic for a 3.00pm kick-off.« Back to all news
