Midfielder Matt Bell says it’s important the team take their FA Cup form into the league following the Dabbers exit from the competition to Stevenage last Saturday.
Bell captained the side in the First Round tie and says now the cup run is over, it’s key the team take their form into the league.
He said: “As good as the form has been in the FA Cup, it is now imperative that we transfer it to the league.
“The league table provides difficult reading and we now need to use the games in hand we have to climb up the table.”
The former Leek man led the side out due to club captain Sam Hall’s suspension following his red card against Rushall, and Bell said although it was a proud moment personally, the team missed having Hall in the team.
“Every single one of the lads were gutted for Sam that he was banned for such a big game. He is the club captain and deserved to lead the lads out.
“It was a proud moment for me but I would have definitely preferred to have the big man available.
“The mood in the dressing room after the game was a little strange. I think we felt we gave a decent account of ourselves but the scoreline was disappointing” he added.« Back to all news
