Nantwich will be hoping for a repeat of the last time they played Droylsden when the two clubs clash at the Butchers Arms on Saturday (28th September).
It is just over 18 years ago that local schoolteacher Andy Locke wrote himself into the record-books scoring the fastest-ever FA Cup hat-trick – in just 2 minutes and 20 seconds!
No doubt Dabbers boss Danny Johnson would be delighted if one of his strikers could repeat the trick as his team looks to put last Saturday’s home defeat behind them when they travel to the side currently propping up the Evo-Stik Premier Division.
Johnson admitted to being “very, very disappointed” after his side went down 3-2 to Worksop having worked hard to draw level after conceding two early goals. The Dabbers will be eager to return from the Butchers Arms with something to show for their efforts. Danny Caldecott comes back into the reckoning after completing a three-match ban while goalkeeper Chris Cheetham and midfielder Tom Williams have been released.
Dave Pace has bolstered his Droylsden squad with four recent signings as they try to come to terms with life in the Evo-Stik Premier after relegation from the Conference North. Former FC United midfielder Joe Power has joined from Australian side Adelaide Blue Eagles and fellow midfielder Steve Beck has returned to his former club from Vauxhall Motors. Towering goalkeeper Yannick Nlate has also returned to the club – from Maidenhead United – and the new quartet is completed by former Bolton Wanderers under-21s defender Ben Hampson.
Admission to the Butchers Arms is £10 for adults, £6 concessions and £2 for children. Kick off is at 3pm.
