The Club has recently been found to be in breach of Rule 6.9 by the FA and the Evo-Stik league, whereby a club has fielded an ineligible player This relates to the appearance of Brian Summerskill for 67 Minutes in the game at Ashton on November 5th 2011. The paperwork for the F.A to approve the loan was not deposited with the Association by the required time prior to Brian Summerskill playing in the game and therefore the Club has been found Guilty of a breach of the rules. The penalty for this breach of League Rules is that the Club be deducted any points gained from the game and as the result was a 1-1 Draw we were deducted one league point.
The Club appealed this decision to the F.A today as we sincerely believe we had done everything within our power to ensure that the player was registered with both parties, as we had done in the past, but we were unfortunately unsuccessful at the hearing and so have been deducted one league point. Thankfully this has no outcome on either promotion or relegation and the Club would like to sincerely apologise to the League, manager, players and supporters for this regrettable situation and assure everyone that steps have been taken within our administration process to ensure that a repeat of this can hopefully be avoided in future.
