The Nantwich Town Away Fan Guide has been specifically designed to appeal to any supporter who makes the trip to the Weaver Stadium in the 2018/19 season. While this is mainly aimed at fans of clubs visiting Nantwich, anyone visiting the ground for the first time will find it useful!
At the Weaver Stadium, we welcome supporters of all ages and our aim as a club is to make sure you have the most enjoyable day possible, regardless of the result.
If you have any questions, please contact club press officer Steve Sharman on email@example.com. We look forward to seeing you very soon!
While the Weaver Stadium, like grounds in the division, does not offer segregation towards home and away supporters, away supporters usually congregate behind the goal of the end that they are attacking. It is customary for the away supporters to swap ends at half-time.
Parking for fans is free of charge. The ground offers limited parking space and you are advised to arrive early as these can go quickly, especially for the more popular games, such as local derbies and Bank Holiday fixtures. There is also a nearby long-stay car park at the local swimming baths and that is the best place to park should there be no space at the ground. It costs £2.10 for 2-4 hours, and £2.90 for up to 10 hours, so offers a cheap and well-located place to leave your car, with the stadium and town centre in easy walking distance. For evening games, this car park is free after 6pm.
How to find us
Address: Nantwich Town Football Club, Water Lode, Nantwich, CW5 5BS
By Car: Come off the M6 at Junction 16 and take the first left on the A500. Follow the A500 for around 6.5 miles, heading over several roundabouts. At the 4th roundabout, take the 2nd exit signposted Nantwich Town Centre. (If approaching from the A51, follow the road until you reach a T-junction next to a housing estate. Turn left and follow the instructions from here). Follow that road, heading over a railway line as you do until it reaches a small roundabout after around 1 mile. Head straight over to the next one and turn left there, following the road round past a Morrisons on your right.
Head over the next roundabout and keep straight on. When you approach a set of traffic lights, head straight on and you will see the ground on your right-hand side.
If coming southbound from the North West down the M6, it is also advisable to head to J16, come off on the slip road and take the turnoff marked Crewe, Nantwich and Chester. From there, follow the instructions listed above.
Local Stations: Nantwich and Crewe
Crewe is one of the busiest and most easily-accessible stations in the country, and from Crewe station, there are regular trains to Nantwich which take under ten minutes. The ground is a short walk from the station, or a taxi ride shouldn’t cost more than £5.
Pubs for Away Fans
While there aren’t any real ‘away pubs’ per say, there are a range of good watering holes around Nantwich town centre.
Barrel and Tap – The Barrel and Tap, while not only one of Nantwich Town’s sponsors, is also an excellent pub which can be found on Hospital Street. They present a wide range of beers from all over the world, as well as locally grown products representing some of the newest and most famous breweries in the game today.
Beer Dock – Beer Dock is an independent craft beer emporium, that supplies the finest craft beer that the UK, USA, Germany, Belgium and other countries have to offer. There are no blaring TVs, fruit machines or fancy gimmicks, just great craft beer in a quirky pub.
At the top of the main stand at the Weaver Stadium, the function room allows all home and away fans in for free and has a wide range of beers available bottled and on-draught.
Match Day Information
Our aim is to make match day as stress-free as possible for you, the supporter.
Programmes: Produced in-house by the media team, matchday programmes always offer excellent reading, tough trivia and is all-around one of the better programmes in the division. They are priced at £2 each (though there have been reductions in price in the past based on events such as postponements or cup ties). These can be purchased at our programme stand which is situated to the right of the main stand.
Food and drink: The Weaver Stadium has the excellent ‘Dabbers Diner’ that serves hot food, soft drinks and confectionary available. Whether it be pies, chips or chocolate that takes your fancy, the club’s food kiosk to the right of the main stand is sure to please.
