Nantwich Town FC are delighted to announce the details of our full time Football Scholarship Programme for September 2017. The club will continue to work alongside the highly successful Liverpool based company Coaching Connexions and will offer boys aged 16-19 a full time football based course at The Weaver Stadium.

Coaching Connexions are a recognised national Sports Education provider and have recently been part of an OFSTED Grade 2 (Good) inspection. The programme, will further enhance the Youth Structure going forward, enabling a pathway for gifted footballers, into the First Team. Players who enrol on the programme will not only benefit from outstanding coaching delivered by Premier League A/B License coaches, they will also have the opportunity to gain work experience and the equivalent of 3 A- Levels.

The club plans to hold open days and a number of trials which both players and parents can attend. Staff from both Coaching Connexions and Nantwich Town FC will be present at these events. Gary Judge, Director at Coaching Connexions, expressed his excitement at the potential of the programme by stating: “This is a club going in the right direction and this programme can provide an excellent platform for local players to play first team football at an early age. This prospect aside, any student who enrols at Nantwich Town will be put through their coaching badges and will have the opportunity to travel abroad to play and coach Football. The club are firmly behind us with these plans and together I am sure we can provide the best sporting opportunities in the area”.

Looking forward to the start of the programme in September 2017, the club have plans to invest in the classroom facilities at the stadium and as well as training at the club, players will have the opportunity to take part in football tours to Dubai & America. Chairman Tony Davison added his support to the programme by stating: “The club is looking forward to this next chapter in our youth development department. Coaching Connexions and the football club aim to provide the best football and education programme for talented footballers and enthusiasts. By being based at the stadium, the programme isn’t just geared towards boys playing Football. The programme will enable the boys to gain an insight into what is required to work in football in either the Coaching, Sports Science or Commercial capacity. We are holding open trials in throughout the year and are urging all boys who are interested in a future in Football to apply so we can give them more information on what we can offer”.
