Jonathan Brain (Goalkeeper) Born Carlisle, 11 February 1983. A former Walsall goalkeeper, Jonny signed for the Dabbers in August 2011 and made his Nantwich debut in the 3-0 home defeat to Bradford PA, 20/8/11. Jonny, 29, has made 200 appearances in the Football League with Port Vale, Macclesfield Town and Walsall. As a youngster, the 6’3” stopper was on the books at Newcastle United and Carlisle United. A very impressive shot-stopper who was named as the club’s Player of the Season for 2011/12.
Christopher Bailey (Defender) Born 24 August 1994. Left-back who joined the Dabbers from Colne in February 2013, making his debut in a 1-0 home defeat to Matlock Town, 16/02/2013. Served Clitheroe and then Colne, making 13 appearances early in the 2012/13 campaign.
Matt Bailey (Defender) Born Crewe, 12 March 1986. Progressed through the Nantwich youth set-up prior to joining Stockport County as a teenager. Scored three goals in a six game loan stint at Altrincham during 2003/04 and had a further loan at Scunthorpe United in 2004/05 making 4 League appearances. Appeared once for the Edgeley Park club in the Football League Trophy before joining Northwich Victoria. Moved on to Crewe Alexandra from where he was loaned to Hereford United, Southport, Lancaster City, Barrow and Weymouth. Released by the Alex at the end of the 2007/08 season, he re-joined Northwich and had a month’s loan at Hinckley United. Left the Vics for Eastwood Town in February 2010. Re-joined the Dabbers in August 2011, the 6’5” centre half made his return debut in the 4-1 home win over Chester, 29/08/11.
Ryan Dicker(Defender) Born Stoke-on-Trent, 22 September 1986. Joined Nantwich in the 2007 close season after being released by Alsager Town. Previously on the books of UniBond League side Leek Town whom he joined from Northwich Victoria in the 2005 close season. Had a loan spell at Biddulph Victoria and then Alsager Town in October 2005 before signing a permanent deal with the Bullets. Made his Nantwich debut in the first competitive game at the Weaver Stadium, a 2-0 defeat to Quorn, 18/08/2007. Left Nantwich for Newcastle Town in July 2008 and joined Stafford Rangers in the summer of 2011. Returned for a second spell at the Weaver Stadium at the end of 2012, making his return debut as a substitute in the 3-2 home defeat to FC United, 05/01/2013.
Zack Foster (Defender) Born West Bromwich, 17 September 1992. Youngster who joined the club on work experience from Stoke City in February 2011, making his debut in the 4-3 defeat at Marine, 15/2/11. Released by the Potters at the end of the 2010/11 campaign, he re-joined the Dabbers at the start of the 2011/12 season.
Christopher Jones (Defender) Born 24 November 1992. 20 year old who joined the Dabbers in February 2013 from Mickleover Sports. Gained first team experience with Derby County before an ankle injury last year hampered his progress. Made his debut in the 1-0 home defeat to Matlock Town, 16/02/2013.
Darren Moss (Defender) Born Wrexham, 24 May 1981. A Welsh under-21 international, Darren joined the Dabbers in the 2011 close season from Bangor City. He started out with Chester City, progressing through the youth ranks to make his senior debut in November 1998. He joined Shrewsbury Town in June 2001 and helped the Shrews gain promotion back to the Football League in 2003/04. His form prompted a £170,000 move to Crewe Alexandra in March 2005. Returning to Shrewsbury in May 2007, he spent a further two seasons at the Shropshire outfit before joining Morecambe. He switched to Welsh Premier side Bangor in January 2011. Made his Dabbers debut in the 3-1 defeat at Mickleover Sports on the opening day of last season.
Charlie Raglan (Defender) Born 28 April 1993. The 19-year-old came through the youth set-up at Port Vale, before joining Conference North outfit Hinckley United in July 2012 on a permanent basis having been released by Port Vale. Previously had enjoyed a three-month loan spell at Hinckley from Vale in September 2011. A central or right-sided defender, he featured for the Vale youth and reserve teams and made over 30 first-team appearances for the Knitters early in the 2012/13. Switched to the Weaver Stadium in February 2013, making his debut against Matlock Town, 16/02/2013.
Aaron Cole (Midfield/Forward) Born 10 September 1992. Ht: 6’2”. Strong and athletic 20-year old who can play on either wing. The wide midfielder started his career at Derby County and had a professional contract at the club for 2011/12. He went on loan to Eastwood Town in August 2011. In November 2011, he went on loan to Stockport County for the remainder of the season, making 16 appearances in the Blue Square Bet Premier. Joined Barrow on his release from Pride Park then signed for Hinckley United in August 2012. Joined Nantwich from the Knitters in February 2013, making his debut in the 1-0 home defeat to Matlock Town, 16/02/2013.
Oliver Devenney (Midfield) Born 22 December 1991 Former Burnley youth player (released in the summer of 2010) who signed for the Dabbers in March 2013 from Clitheroe where he had been club captain. His time at Shawbridge was split by a brief spell at FC United of Manchester, joining the Rebels in February 2011 and making 6 substitute appearances during the 2010/11 campaign before returning to Clitheroe. Made his Nantwich debut as a substitute in the 1-0 defeat at home to Chorley, 26/03/2013.
Caspar Hughes (Midfield) Born Crewe, 9 June 1993. The diminuitive midfielder joined the Dabbers on work experience from Crewe Alexandra in March 2011, making his debut in the 2-1 defeat at Kendal Town, 5/3/2011. Returned to Crewe to make his League debut as a late substitute in the 2-0 home win over Stockport County, 30/4/2011. Left the Alexandra Stadium for a loan spell at Chasetown in January 2012. Re-joined the Dabbers on loan in March 2012, signing on a permament basis in July 2012 after his release from Gresty Road
Niall Maguire (Midfield) Born Northern Ireland, 18 August 1989. Joined Nantwich from Stafford Rangers in June 2011. Niall was previously club captain at Stone Dominoes where he netted 16 times in 80 appearances, being named the club’s Player of the Season in 2008/09. Made his Nantwich debut in the 3-1 defeat at Mickleover Sports on the opening day of last season.
Tom Bentham (Forward) Born 19 September 1992. Joined the Dabbers from North West Counties League side Maine Road in March 2013. The 20 year old striker had netted 22 times for Maine Road this season, having joined the club from Trafford in November 2011.
Simon Everall (Forward) Born Crewe 23 July 1990. Originally joined the Dabbers in October 2011 from Cheshire League side Crewe FC where he enjoyed a prolific scoring record. Started out the 2008/09 season with Kidsgrove Athletic. Joined Norton United in July 2009, switching to Winsford United in October 2009 and moving on to Sandbach United during the 2010 close season. Made his Nantwich debut as a substitute in the 1-0 FA Cup win over Nuneaton Town, 29/10/11. Signed for Stafford Rangers in the 2012 close season but was back at the Weaver Stadium in October 2012.
Paul Hudson (Forward) Born Crewe, 26 November 1986. P.J. joined Nantwich from Cheshire League outfit Crewe FC in December 2012, making his debut as a substitute in the 4-3 home win over Stocksbridge, 01/12/2012.
Josh Lane (Forward) Born Crewe, 14 November 1992. Former youth team striker who was part of the Dabbers side that got through to the Sentinel Youth Cup Final in 2010. Joined Eccleshall in the summer of 2011, netting ten times for the NWCL side before returning to Nantwich, making his debut as a late substitute in the 3-0 Cheshire Senior Cup win at Macclesfield Town, 13/3/12.
Kyle Wilson (Forward) Born Birkenhead, 14 November 1985. Progressed through the youth ranks at Crewe Alexandra before joining Altrincham on loan in October 2005. Joined Barrow in the summer of 2006 and after a brief spell at Droylsden in January 2008 he signed for FC United of Manchester in the 2008 close season. By the end of the campaign he had netted 24 goals in 32 games and he was snapped up by Macclesfield Town. He had a month’s loan back at FC United in January 2010 and, at the end of the season was released by the Silkmen having made just a handful of League appearances. He joined Hyde and then, in October 2010, Chester FC. Scored 7 times in 21 appearances for Welsh Premier runners-up Bangor City last season, joining the Dabbers in July 2012.« Back to all news
